The City of Kingman has been notified that Kingman EMS has been selected as the 2023 Career Service of the Year Award winner from the Kansas EMS Association (KEMSA). The recipient of this award is recognized for its outstanding professionalism and service to the community it serves. The award also honors the service for its dedication, teamwork, and commitment to EMS. A “career service” is an EMS service that provides paid, full-time service to its community.
Nominations are sent to an out-of-state third-party panel for selection and scoring against the award criteria. While there were multiple services nominated for this award in 2023, Kingman EMS received the highest scores from the panel and declared the winner.
Kingman EMS won the similar “Volunteer Service of the Year” in 2017, but moved into the “Career Service” category when it transitioned to full-time, 24-hour staffing in 2022. The City would like to congratulate the entire Kingman EMS and Rescue Department staff for their outstanding work and dedication to the Kingman County community through their passion to serve. Chief Zach Bieghler and his leadership team do an outstanding job of ensuring that the department provides cutting edge patient care with up-to-date equipment for the residents of Kingman County and its visitors. The value and service Kingman EMS and Rescue brings to our greater community is immense.
Members of the Kingman EMS and Rescue team will formally accept the award at the 2023 KEMSA Conference and Expo in Mulvane on August 12th. As the 2023 award winner, Kingman EMS will be nominated by KEMSA for the national award in 2024 to recognize the outstanding EMS service in the country.
