PART-TIME

The City of Kingman has ongoing recruitment for part-time EMS providers. Candidates must possess Kansas certification as either an EMR, EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic as well as a valid driver’s license. Part-time providers assist in covering various leave time of full-time staff and helps staff special events.  Kingman EMS providers work under progressive protocols who enjoy working to the fullest capability of their Kansas scope of practice. Kingman EMS responds to approx. 1,000 calls per year in a 720sq mile response area. Kingman EMS also provides rescue services to the Kingman EMS response area, rescue provides extrication services at vehicle accident scenes as well as logistical and medical support to county medical calls.  Preference will be given to those providers who live within the city limits of Kingman. However, we also utilize responders in outlying rural areas of Kingman County and rely on out-of-county personnel to support staffing when needed. Kingman EMS staffs it’s services with 24-hours shifts with full living quarters.  Kingman EMS also provides training to personnel as well as a supplemental online education program to allow personnel to obtain all the required continuing education needed to re-certify in Kansas. In-Person training is paid hours worked. In addition, Kingman EMS also pays certification renewal fees and provides its employees with membership to the Kansas EMS Association.

City of Kingman City Clerk:  This is a fulltime, salaried position.  Successful candidates will be detail oriented, organized, and have effective written and verbal communication.  An understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping is essential.  Competent computer skills in Word and Excel are necessary, but training will be provided for the City’s accounting software program.  The City Clerk also supervises the office staff at City Hall and attends and takes minutes for City Commission meetings.

Volunteer Firefighters:  The City of Kingman is looking for energetic and eager members for its volunteer fire department.  The fire department provides Kingman and some of the surrounding townships with essential fire protection.  Members of the fire department are part-time City employees who are paid a small stipend for training, meeting attendance, and fire call responses.  Training meetings are held on Wednesday evenings.

Personal protective equipment is provided to firefighters.  The time commitment is dependent upon the number of calls received.  While this is a volunteer service, it is very helpful if members respond to as many calls as possible when they are in the area.   The City of Kingman is an equal opportunity employer.

City of Kingman Municipal Court Clerk:  This is a part-time position for approximately 12-20 hours per week.  There is some flexibility in scheduling, but consistent work hours will need to be established to set the court’s business hours.

The municipal court clerk performs the functions necessary to operate the municipal court.  Successful candidates will be detail oriented, organized, and have effective written and verbal communication.  Competent computer skills in Word and Excel are also necessary, but training will be provided for the court management software program.  An understanding of court processes would also be helpful.  Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED.

City of Kingman Street & Maintenance Laborer:  The City of Kingman Kansas is currently accepting applications for the position of Street & Maintenance Laborer.  Job duties include performing a variety of manual labor tasks in the construction and maintenance of streets; water lines; sewer lines; municipal buildings or grounds; and operating heavy equipment.

A high school diploma or GED and a valid Kansas Driver’s License (with ability to obtain CDL after hired) is required.  There will be on call time to cover so occasional nights and weekends will be required. Must be able to do manual labor and work in inclement weather.  This is an entry level position.
